Garden Benches

This oak seat was the winner of a competition to design and make a bench for the Museum of Abernethy's garden area. The same design is also shown in Giant Redwood.

School Seating

Log Seating

Log seating is a robust and cost-effective solution to the need for seating in playgrounds. They can be arranged for play or more formally as outdoor classrooms for story-telling.

Buildings

Pole Barn design Office

Scottish Woods is a sawmill in Oakley, Fife and this is their office. It's a Pole Barn design built around Larch posts sunk into the ground with floor joists and roof trusses bolted on. I installed the posts and built the structure around them. Others roofed the building and lined the inside. I clad the outside and built the decking and steps.

Garage

This traditionally constructed building is notable for being made from Spruce trees that grew on site. They were felled and then processed by a mobile "woodmizer" sawmill.

Gates

Moongate in Scottish Oak

Circular openings in stone walls are known as moongates. For this commission, a similar effect was achieved in timber using Scottish Oak for its durability.
